Read Demption

It's monday, and I must say that my purging is going well. Perhaps because my emotions aren't tied to #4, or perhaps because this company has been working me to death today, lol. I think it's more so the prior versus the latter. However, I think I'm going back into my shell (literally and electronically) where dating is concerned.

Does anyone listen to Pandora.com? I'm not an employee of this site, but I think it's one of the best streaming audio site online!!!!

Ok, back to reality. I've watched the movie Shawshank Redemption, like 50 million times in my life, but only recently have I been able to really grasps some of the underlying meanings behind the movie. In particular, the two characters of Brooks and Andy. For those that aren't familiar, Brooks was an inmate who had been in prison for over 3/4ths of his life. Around the age of 80 he was paroled, set up in a halfway house, and given a job bagging groceries. Since the majority of his life has been spent behind bars, he had become overly comfortable with the structure of prison. The idea of getting out and living a life of freedom just didn't make sense to him (and cause a great deal of fear). After trying this for a short period of time, he just couldn't take it anymore....so he hung himself.

Andy on the other hand, spend a good deal of his life in the same prison as Brooks. However, after serving nearly 25 years in prison, Andy decided to escape. It wasn't so much the escape that was different that Brooks, it was the idea that Andy found ways to change the structure of prison life from the inside out. Once he escaped, he took the money that he'd stolen from the warden and rebuilt his life down in Mexico.

One of the things I took from the movie (after about 20 viewings) was that people often times seen the same situation in many different ways. I think about this sometimes when people try to give assessments on things and will fuss you down about you seeing things another way. I've even been guilty of it myself, at some point or another in life.

But I'm working on doing better about this ideology. People have different ways of thinking.....different methods to their madness.

Ok, I don't know where this post came from....but somehow my thoughts ended up at this point of the road.

Talk to you guys tomorrow. It's 5:33pm, and I should be headed home!!!

No Good Reason - The Last Straw

She had none.

Called me just after I finished posting last night.
Said she'd been asleep since 5pm.
Mind you it was 10:30 by the time she called.

Her phone "dropped a call 20mins into the conversation".
She calls back at 3am, with some story about how she fell asleep again.

*The next round of lies begin*

At 3am, she asks if I'm going to church in the morning, to which I say "yes". She then asks if I wanted to go with her, so I say "ok" (it's church, no harm no foul, plus we go to the same church). I then clearly ask "well what service do you wanna go to? 8am or 10:30am? She responds 8am. I'm cool with it, and before the conversation ends, she says "I'll call you in the morning to let you know I'm leaving".

Sunday AM:

No call, no text. So of course I head to church (as usual). On my way I send a text and call (thinking it's the gentlemanly thing to do.

Church ends (great service by the way...I should blog about it, lol)

I get a text message that says "I overslept".

RECAP:

She claims she slept from 6pm to 10pm last night. Then from 11pm to 3am last night. And somehow managed to "oversleep" for church this morning.

See people....it's the little things that cause people to jump ship. Not that #4 and I were in a relationship of any sort, but I just can't stand inconsistencies. For various reasons:

1. Because I've been inconsistent in the past, and I know why. And trust me, they weren't good reasons.

2. If a person is inconsistent and isn't willing to address the fact that they have an issue with it, then it has a stronger possibility of not changing.

3. I just can't deal with fickled people.

Somehow, she managed to make it to the 10:30 service. I'm glad she made it to church, but it is really inconsiderate to ask someone to do something as simple as going to church together, then bailing with NO GOOD REASON.

Unless God speaks something into my spirit, I must cleanse myself of #4, and further realize that there are only 8 numbers between 1 & 10.

{by the way...it's raining on the east coast today...how symbolic}
