ReEmergence

I woke up this morning to the sounds of the bread guy, unloading his orders for the pizza parlor beneath my condo. I rolled over and checked the clock, since the alarm had yet to go off. It's Tuesday morning, and for the first time in several months, reality has begun to sink in. I'm in a new place, physically and figuratively. The past few months have seemingly gone by like a blur. But now time is beginning to recommence.

I moved, not to far away from where I was before, but a good move none the less. With gas prices continuing to hover around $4, I had to find something closer to my job. After about 2 months of searching for "just the right place", and not finding it, I had originally decided to settle on leasing an 18th floor apartment, just on the other side of the river. It had an amazing view; but sometimes God's view is much better. On the day of the lease signing, I decided to check out Craigslist once more, as it had been my main source of research. Scrolling through the Apartments for Rent section, I came across a condo downtown that was significantly less that what I was expecting. The pictures were great, but I just new something had to be wrong (obviously God had other plans). So I made plans to check out the place. We get to the door, next to the pizza parlor and high end Brazilian restaurant downstairs, and I'm beginning to feel the nausea of finding another early 20th century apartment with out of date amenities. But like I said, God's view is always better than ours. So the guy turns the key and opens the door to this "huge" 1500+ square foot loft/condo. Hardwood floors throughout (except the bedroom, which I like), stainless steel appliances, and a nice view over the mainstreet, downtown. I was simply amazed (expecially since it fit into my current budget, lol). So of course, I pulled the plug on the 18th floor apartment (with an outdated 20th century feel), and invested my funding into a short term lease with this place. What makes it even better is that the guy leasing the place is out at sea, and is looking to sell soon!!!

So I'm at a new place, both physically and figuratively. Figuratively, I'm learning patience. Actually, I met patience, not long ago. We first began conversing a little over a month ago. Odd though. After 26 years of living, I'm just now fully vetting the concept of patience. And believe me, you....it's no small change. Patience is a virtue, or so they. But patience...she is kind, she is thoughtful, and she is willing to allow me to learn her at the reward of understanding that "my past brought me to where I am today, but it won't get me to where I need to be tomorrow." Patience is something I'm living with each and everyday. And by all means I certainly hope she sticks around.

Just as info...here are a few other happenings that I thought I'd jot down:

1. School has reconvened. After a year and a half layofff, I'm back at it. This time its and M.A. in Econ.

2. I am now an uncle for the second time.

3. God is moving me in the right direction, where my job is concerned.

Be back soon.....stay blessed.
