Morning:
I had originally planned on posting yesterday afternoon, but after being a bit backed up in work, things just didn't go as smoothly as I had planned. It's kinda good though, that I didn't post yesterday though, because I would probably have dedicated it solely to a meaningless, convoluted, conversation that I had with someone yesterday. I feel the need to at least summarize my points on the situation for two reasons: 1. This is my blog, lol & 2. I may actually want to refer back to my thoughts later on down the road:
Rants & Raves:
[Begin]
Clearly dealing with principalities, I feel like when you are dating someone, that that should be the only person you devote your quality time to. I don't denounce having other's involved in your life, but my main focus for taking any friendship to the dating status is purely for future prosperity, i.e. marriage. So therefore, I think that it is absoutely necessary to maintain that dating status with just one person, and not date around. Unfortunately my counterpart in the discussion feels that, (paraphrasing) - It's ok to date around because there is no commitment, and there is no obilgation to the person. I honestly think she and I just have differing opinions about the word.....Kinda funny though, how an intangible word like dating can cause such an uproar, just because we allow it to have totally different meanings. Evidently, she doesn't hold the word "dating" on as high a stature as I do, which is all well and good........but I just can't and will no do it. Because, by being a good & caring individual (male), dating around can give way to many adverse effects, no matter how you define the word. I won't go into deep discussion about it, but I have to agree with WC in saying that.....gold diggers aren't the problem, because you can spot them a mile away.....but its the everyday, intelligent woman, who dates around who you get caught up with. A man's goal is in essense to try and win the heart of a woman, so we do what is necessary in order to do that. If she is dating around, then that makes the job even more harder, so you have to do even more.......meanwhile, the 4 or 5 other people she is dating are doing the same thing, whether it's money or not, time or not. So all in all, she benifits........yet she isn't a gold digger. I just want one woman...who wants one man. When was the last time you have seen women going through the issues men face just to get into a committed relationship? Go figure. Oh well, another days journey.
[End]
I dropped the saturday class and added the thursday night Strategic Marketing class to my schedule, so needless to say I was in class last night. How about I walk into class and who do I see.....but VLG (Destination Known), lol. This class seems like its going to be the more challenging of the two. We have more cases, even though they are group case studies, but cases none the less. I also met Karen last night. She works at Lockheed Martin, which is where I definitely want to make a career (hopefully I can come back to this post years from now, and see if it truly worked out). She mentioned that she would inform me on job openings as soon as she heard and before they went on the net, so I'm gonna pray on this one real hard, lol. Class got out early, so I couldn't complain. I went to the student center, where the Sigma's had just finished their probate show......the atmosphere didn't seem as conducive as to what I had experienced in my undergrad days, but it was cool. I met to many folx from WGA though. All the Zetas, this guy from WGA, so I had hurry and get the heck up outta there. About the only odd thing about the night was this "woman" who was maybe 23 or so, who approached me and began talking about greek life ( I had on nalia so it was ok). She isn't greek, but she just went on rambling about who she knew, and if I knew them, and this that and the other....she was kinda cute, but not my type at all. Well back to the Mainframe. I want to get as much done today as I can to avoid any interruptions on Monday. Yall have a blessed weekend, as I will try to.........sleeeeep ummmmmm (Homer J. Simpson).

Grindin Away
Last night had to be one of the most oddest experiences in quite some time. After work yesterday, I got home, cleaned up a bit, ate dinner, and hit up the PS2 for a while before class. I think that the idea of being back in a classroom setting hadn't quite set in, or maybe it was the idea of being around an undergraduate atmosphere that trully had not set it. So by 7:20 I was on my way to my first M.B.A class (Econ: Managing the Value Chain, or something like that). I got there about 15mins early, just in case I got lost or couldn't find the right class, even though I knew the class number. So anywho, I open the door to the Business Building, and behold, what do I find......a slew of people there at 8:00 at night. I had about 2 or 3 seconds of overwhelmingness (dunno if its a word, but see disclaimer #1), but afterwards I was cool. So the classroom number on the printout said Room 382...and the first class I saw on the floor said 382A. So Im thinking, "there must be a 382A & 382B, so I'll just choose the first one. So I sit down, and try to get a feel for who else is in the class, when more and more I see less and less "working people" coming into the class. Nothing against undergraduates, 'cause I just left there about 4 months ago, but I was beginning to get a little iffy about KSU, lol. So after some conversation with another individual in the class, I quietly got up and walked my happy behind up outta there and went next door to what I thought was going to be Room 382B.......but just like the print out said it was Room 382.
Class was cool though. Even though it was 2hr & 45mins long, the professor seems as if he can help time go by fast. I don't want to break down and by this book though. Its like one of those hand made books that cost about $5.00 to make and they are selling it for $72.00. What a rip off! But I guess I need to break down and buy it within the next two or three days, since we have 3 chapters to read before next class, and I really wanna start off on a good note. I learned that from undergrad. Get all the A's you can while you are just starting off, so if you gump off later, your GPA will still survive.
As the Professor was calling roll & got to my name, I'd figured he'd screw it up, but needless to say he didn't tear my name about too much, he looked at me and said just what everyone else says...
"You look like somebody"
A quote I'd always love to reply with:
"Your right, cause I am somebody"
But I can never muster up enough to tell a professor, who can dictate my grade, my sentiments, lol.
side note: I always get the comment that I look like the guy from "Waiting to Exhale". You know the bad guy, who cheated on his ole lady. The same bad guy who was in SoulFood and cheated on his ole lady, with her sister. Doesn't bode to well for me, huh? Anywho, class was good, learned a lot, mostly about Game Theory, but I don't want to write on that just yet. At least not until I get a good understanding of it.
Instead of constantly creating post about my rants/frustrations or vice versa, I've decided to do a rants & raves column instead. So that I can just post all of that stuff here inside the post.
Rants & Raves:
I swear, if another woman approaches me that has kid(s), I am going to lose my freakin mind. Do I look like someones Dad or something? Just because I have a job, do they think I'm the one who is suppose to "support' them?????? Don't get me wrong, cause I don't want to be judgemental about women who have kids...heck my mom went through the same thing. But here is the kicker...instead of just "being cool" and "building a friendship" first, these chicks are looking to dive right in. I'm like, ok, yeah you're cool and all, but I'm 22, in grad school, paying off my own dang debts, living in an apartment with a roommate....what can I possibly do for you and/or your child in a supporting role. Now I'm in now way bashing women on a basis of having pre-marital kids, I'm just giving you my experiences. I could care less if she has kids or not, but if you are interested in me, just let it grow......be easy......enjoy time......that doesn't always include the "three letter word that got you in the position you are now"......
