The Traveling Itch.....

Another 3 months have almost pasted since the last time I sat down and randomly regurgitated my thoughts. What's odd is that I think about blogging "all the time", and yet for whatever reason I neglect to do so. Whether I'm in Wal-Mart watching some random person over fill their grocery cart because it's the 1st of the month, or at the mall people watching. Perhaps maybe it's because my plate has been overloaded lately. Work is like a non-stop conveyor belt, and school is ....well....school. Thankfully I'll be done with actual classes for my 2nd masters in just over 2 months from today! I still have to complete my thesis, but for what it's worth, I'll be glad not to have to sit in another class for 3 hours twice a week.

Speaking of work, things have been really good on that front; and I try to make sure I thank God for it every chance I get. The good days are definitely outweighing the bad ones, so with that measure, I'm content. Well not content as in I don't want anything else out of life, but content at where I am in life "right now". You know, I look at the news and I see how people have lost tons of jobs over the past few years, and how homes have been destroyed because of financial troubles. When those moments come up in life, I have to stop for a second and give thanks to the Big Man above.

I guess getting back to focusing on Christ and all that He (through God) has done in my life is quite fitting as we acknowledge today as Good Friday. I remember back in the day I used to blog about all the good things that God had done in my life....perhaps I need to get back speaking on that. It seemed to go over well with readers; and in some cases inspire them more than God's grace had inspired me.

So what's new on my Journey.....outside of school and work, I've been having this terrible "traveling itch". Since I don't have a passport yet, I'm stuck to the U.S in my ambitions. I guess this itch began last year with several trips to New York. The first trip was to see a childhood friend who lives in Jersey. Considering I'd never been to NYC (or NJ for that matter) it was quite a new experience. I don't know if I could ever live in NYC, but it is a great place to visit. With so much in so little space, it's terribly hard to see everything. The first trip was the "tourist" trip. Filled with tours, exhibits, and cab rides. The following trips were more so to see the other boroughs outside of Manhattan.

So fast forward to the past few weeks. The traveling itch has been growing more and more. So I'm deeming 2010 as the year of expansion. With that said, I'll be in LA next weekend!!!! After LA, it's Atlanta in May, Vegas in June, back to Atlanta in late June, hopefully Chicago before the year is over.

So what else is new? I know in the past that I've always been outspoken about the pursuit of my everlasting "rib". Let's just say that the pursuit has not diminished.......and I'm still single....but there is a certain young lady that has my attention. I guess life is funny that way. We've known each other for years. What's crazy is that she kinda reminds me of Sanaa Lathan in Brown Sugar.......could she be my Brown Sugar......I guess time will tell.

Be back soon(er)

So i guess what you're saying is that you'll see me in May or June. *setting face in a determined look and not taking no for an answer* :)

So glad you posted something. Glad things are looking up for you. I lost my job in this crazy economy, but God is Faithful. I'm working somewhere else now and I'm grateful to have been able to bounce back as quickly as I did.

Good luck with Brown Sugar :)
