So sway and I went to see Ray on Friday....and I'm telling you guys, it was a great movie. Some critics are saying that it was kinda lengthy and a particular scene near the end of the movie gives away the authenticity of the film, but from my personal viewing of the show........I respected and got mad at Ray Charles more in one night, then I had ever before. Unlike most, I try to look for the little odds & ends of a movie to help understand what the director was trying to convey. So as not to give away soo much of the movie, I liked the way he used the white linens throughout the movie. Most people would say that they represent purity, but I beg to differ. I think they represent the fact that throughout his child hood, Ray saw mostly white, from the linens that his mom's washed.....and as he became blinded...all that he could see was the blandish white color that blind people see.....(or so says science). Anywho, and then to offset it with the colored bottles being the last real thing that Ray saw before he went blind, was kind of the "ok-you-know-everything-is-going-to-be-ok-in-the-end kinda feeling! I'll stop there so as not to give away the movie, but it's definitely a must see! Oh and before I get off that topic..........Ray Charles was Freak!!!!!! I had no clue, lol WOW!!
Anywho, I enjoyed the time spent with sway....I also ran into BluWillow at the movies as well ( just a big ole Blog Fest, lol). I don't think either one of us realized who the other was until we got a really good look, lol!
Saturday....ahhh...I got up kinda late, and was suppose to meet MG to go skating, but that didn't fall through, kinda figured though. Anyways, I played me a few games of NCAA 2005:
side note: So long Nebraska! You know I tend to get attached to my computerized players on NCAA Football. I really didn't want to leave Nebraska as their coach, but I want to see if I can build another program (North Carolina) like I built the BIG RED MACHINE.....but I'll miss Ahmad Carswell (QB, soph.) and D. Jones (RB, Jr.) and that dynamic defense (even though most of them opted for the NFL Draft after I left) [see what I mean by getting attached, lol]
So after playstation, and watching Oklahoma State gump off and lose to Oklahoma, I decided it was time for me to get all of that wool I had let accumulate on my head cut off. After sitting in the BarberShop for almost an hour, SC called and wanted help on her MS Access Project, so me being the good person I try to be, left, went and helped her, then headed back to the barbershop. Got my haircut, grabbed some Sonny's (which I probably shouldn't have since I'm trying to lose weight) and spent the rest of Saturday nite in front of the tube.
Church was great on sunday. Sway's father preached about the things we find when we are in the "valley's" of our lives. Dude was tight...I must admit. I do like the church.....dunno if I wanna join just yet though, I think that'll take some real prayer, and that is something I have not done! So until He sees fit, I'll keep going, keep tithing (yep, wrote the check in good faith and everything), and keep searching for more about him.
" I hate screwing up though, especially when I know right from wrong. I think I'm at a point where I haven't fully realized my RIGHT as a COG (Child of God). Needless to say, I hate screwing up.....but I'll repent......and pray that He sees my heart."
God, I need a Miracle!
